CERTMAP SYSTEMS STORY
Certmap Systems was founded in Shenzhen in 2008, is focusing on the development of automation products. In 2010, began the research of battery energy storage technology, cooperated with the Automotive & Electronics Research Center of the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology,Chinese Academy of Sciences(https://english.siat.ac.cn/), carried out the research on the consistency of power battery pack after grouping, and compiled the performance evaluation standard of power battery packs as power pack performance evaluation method.
The research is to carry out the whole life cycle test of battery pack through two sets of EV power battery packs with the same capacity. The power battery pack adopts China cells(LiCoMnNiO2 lithium battery, nominal cycle life is 300 times); one group adopts the conventional group method, another one adopts with the electrical modularization structure and the module has a built-in control system with active high current equalizing technology.
Parameters of two sets of battery packs: the capacity is 333V/50AH (20 in parallel and 90 in series), the charging ratio is 1.0C, and the discharge ratio is 2.0C. The tests use the same methods and equipment simulating urban working conditions; the load changes from 0 to 2.0C; a full charge and full discharge process is defined as one cycle of the battery pack until the output electric energy of the battery pack is less than 30% of the nominal capacity.
The two battery packs finish a full charge and full discharge cycle every day and the comparative experiment lasts for more than one year.
According to the test results of conventional battery packs in groups, after 20 full charge and full discharge cycles, the effective output of the battery pack begins to decrease. After 50 times, the effective output of the battery pack is lower than 50% of the initial 20 cycles, the pack is evaluated as serious attenuation so that the test is terminated.
In addition, after the battery pack with active equalizing technology continues to be tested until 260 full charge and full discharge cycles, the effective output of the battery pack begins to decrease. At 280 times, the output is less than 80%. It is evaluated that the equalizing technology can effectively control the inconsistency of the battery cells, the effective output of the battery pack remains stable and the life cycle of the battery pack reaches more than 90% of the life cycle of the cell.
In 2019, Certmap Systems and HIMCEN BATTERY formally merged and promoted the commercialization of active equalizing technology in the field of electric energy storage, including the application of EV battery system, household energy storage system, e-bike battery system and high-capacity portable energy storage products.
